Alabama Shakes, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton Win Big At Grammys

The 58th annual Grammy Awards Presentation took place Monday night (2/15/16) in Los Angeles, and is in most years, the televised portion is reserved for the big industry money making award presentations, while a smaller ceremony took place earlier in the night awarding less mainstream genres. Although the performances on the televised part were for the most part hurt by poor sound, there were still a number of love em or hate em performances each year including a Lady Gaga does David Bowie medley and The Eagles paying tribute to Glen Frey with Jackson Browne on lead vocals for “Take it Easy.”

Alabama Shakes took some of the highest honors for Best Rock Performance, Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Song. Chris Stapleton helped bring Country back to its roots with a couple awards as well including Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance.  In the earlier portion Jason Isbell walked away with Best Americana Album honor for his latest record Something More Than Free during the pre-telecast  as well as Best American Roots song for “24 Frames.”  While all the winners can be found here, we listed the winners of most interest to Glide…
