Rivers Cuomo has confirmed preliminary plans for a special tour in which Weezer will not only play all of Pinkerton , the cult 1996 album being reissued on October 5th, but the band’s self-titled debut LP, known as "The Blue Album," as well.
"We’re just running it by promoters right now to see if there’s sufficient interest in the markets to do something like that," Cuomo told MTV. "And if they’re on board, it’s gonna happen." This seems likely. "The fan response has been incredible so far," Cuomo pointed out. "And, if they want to, [fans] can contact their local promoter and tell them to make it happen." Weezer will also release their new album Hurley on September 14th.
