Between performing at the All Good Music Festival in July and taking the stage at The Peach Music Festival in August, The Allman Brothers Band have booked nearly a dozen shows, including six co-headline gigs with Santana.
Although Gregg Allman was forced to postpone his book tour last week to undergo heart tests, he’ll be ready to return to the road in no time. He passed the tests and the book tour for his new memoir “My Cross To Bear” will now begin May 8 in Atlanta. He described the tests to the Associated Press as “just one of those make-sure tests” and promised that he’d be ready for the Allman Brothers Band tour, saying “as of this summer I’ll be there with bells on.”
After playing All Good Music Festival July 21 in Thornville, Ohio, at Legend Valley, the shows with Santana begin July 22 in Darien Center, N.Y., at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. The rest of the co-headline dates are booked in Wantagh, N.Y., at Nikon At Jones Beach Theatre July 24; Holmdel, N.J., at PNC Bank Arts Center July 25; Saratoga Springs, N.Y., at Saratoga Performing Arts Center July 27; Hartford, Conn., at Comcast Theatre July 28; and Columbia, Md., at Merriweather Post Pavilion July 30.
The Allman Brothers Band begins August with an Aug. 1 gig at Atlanta’s Chastain Park Amphitheatre featuring moe. Aug. 3 in Charlotte, N.C., at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre and Aug. 4 in Raleigh, N.C., at Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion features Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The last two solo shows on the group’s schedule are booked at Boston’s Bank Of America Pavilion Aug. 7-8.
The Allman Brothers Band perform two nights at Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pa., at the Toyota Pavilion At Montage Mountain Aug. 10-11. The festival, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the band’s 1972 live album Eat A Peach, boasts a lineup featuring Zac Brown Band, Warren Haynes Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, O.A.R., Railroad Earth and more.
