LISTEN: Sonic Shapeshifter Castilho Splashes Piano Pop Splendor Via “Looking For Ways”

Castilho is the moniker of Pedro Castilho, a synth player and backing vocalist of psychedelic rock band Savanna. Having emerged late 2017 with a softer more melancholic sound on single ‘Come Back’, Castilho released his second song ‘Moving Fast, Moving Slow’ late 2018 and his third track ‘Lucky Ones’ in the summer of 2019.

Check out Portuguese sonic shapeshifter Castilho on his rich new single, “Looking for Ways.” There is a tint of surf rock possessed by an indie spirit here, as the bass lines fill the ethereal register with summery vibes. Castilho has an inviting vocal feel, while his guitar lines and bass riffs dance with a joyful execution of Mac Demarco and Neal Francis.

“Looking for Ways is a piano-oriented song, inspired by the 60’s, aesthetically and sonically. It is a track about moving into adulthood, full of hope and with a heartwarming feel. In the. studio, a string trio was added to have a wider range of instruments.”
