Acquaintances become friends all the time and that was no different for Audio Book Club. Members Zach Pearson, Dylan Jordan, Adam Thornbrugh, Derek Moore, and Billy Reid all grew up in Oklahoma and played in various bands over the last decade. It was through shows with these bands that the members met and eventually wrote the songs that make up the sound of Audio Book Club. Their songs are written from the perspective of characters in anything ranging from books, television, pop culture, or personal experience.
Putting their own spin on 80’s new wave/post-punk, Oklahoma’s Audio Book Club presents their latest infectious single “Here’s My Number”. Driven by a good n’ hairy bass line that can bring the party all on its own, the song is overflowing with irresistible hooks and a heavy dose of Wolf Parade meeting Oingo Boingo. Audio Book Club’s first full-length LP is set to release in the fall of 2022 via Cowboy 2.0 Records.
