Based in Austin, Texas, Henry Invisible (Henry Roland) is a live-looping, multi-instrumentalist, aka “The One Man Funk Band,” who loops and layers vocal harmonies, dynamic guitar riffs, bass grooves, soulful keyboards, drum machines and powerful percussion to create original, high-energy dance music that resembles a solid six-piece ensemble.
Henry Invisible has played a solid role in the music scene both locally in his hometown Austin, TX and regionally. Henry Invisible has opened for such notable artists as George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Bernie Worrell, Shuggie Otis, George Porter Jr., Gary Clark Jr., Lauryn Hill, The New Mastersounds, Ghostland Observatory, Zack Deputy, Dumpstaphunk, Exmag, Earphunk, Cofresi, Nth Power, GZA, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Victor Wooten and more. Henry Invisible has also performed at Wakarusa, Art Outside, Euphoria, Utopiafest, Float Fest, Long Beach Funk Festival, and several others.
Today Glide is offering an exclusive premiere of his new single “Ain’t Easy” ahead of its official release on February 3rd. Incorporating a a touch of chillwave with groove-inducing funk, the tune showcases Henry Invisible’s talent as a one-man-band as he lays down vocals that nod to André 3000 and Jamiroquai. “Ain’t Easy” is at once fresh while still brimming with classic soul and R&B vibes.
