LISTEN: Nashville’s Blond Bones Drop Sweet Tones On Surf-Tinged “Daisy”

On “Daisy” Nashville’s Blonde Bones hits us with sweet tones and sentiment with surf-twinged indie rock. Classic sparkly guitar tones backed by thumping bass and tight simplistic drums brings you into the story of love doomed from the start. The chorus is accented nicely by a synthesizer track that really brings out the power pop underlying this song. They give us just a little taste of a psychedelic departure at the end of the tune that will leave you wondering what this band can pull off when they really open it up.

“I wrote Daisy while visiting friends in east Tennessee. Many of them grew up caddying in the summers and invited me to join them at a posh country club for a day of drinking and a little bit of golf. As they were sharing old stories and gossip from back in the day, I thought about how fun it would be to write a song about an affair between a caddy and one of the club members. The stolen glances, the mix of shame and excitement, the eventual falling apart, it felt like prime real estate for a love song,” says singer Christian Barnett.
