A project concept formed in 2021, its singularity lies in a story of space travel energized by the post-punk and psychedelic sounds of Captain Fuzz, 0B-1, Zarkor, Rocket, and Professor Tricks aboard the Butterfly Bulldozer. Ranging from the modern groove of Squid to the noisy pop of Pond, the group’s first EP, scheduled for February 16th, is a prologue recounting the meeting of the crew, all motivated to build a spaceship to escape the ecological and social problems of a planet in decline.
With the ambition of progressive rock with the monstrous chords of post-punk, Butterfly Bulldozer is an unpredictable melting pot of rock. “Tank” is the second single from the band’s debut EP and in its nearly seven-minute runtime, Butterfly Bulldozer makes sure we never forget their name. In a blizzard of punk tempos and fiery vocals, the band finds time for moments of art-rock that give the track an extra splash of color and unpredictability.
