Much like a lot of cities in the Southern U.S., Austin, Texas has gone through some major changes. At the moment, it feels like the city is slowly turning into Nashville’s cousin with bachelorette parties and post-college grads flocking to the up-and-coming city in hopes of getting closer to whatever dream is in their head. Don’t worry Austin natives, the comparisons stop there. When it comes to the art scene, no city is doing it quite like Austin. Sure every city has its fair share of comedy clubs and exciting bands but the loyalty and devotion that the artists of Austin have to their city can stand up to the likes of New York City and Los Angeles.
As much as the artists love their city, the city loves them right back. You’d be hard-pressed to find an artist more loyal and authentically Austin than storied singer/songwriter/guitarist Scott H. Briam. Briam is a Texas native who epitomizes the many influences and colors that flow through Austin, filtering his experiences and creativity through a unique lens that has carried him through decades of music. The One & Only Scott H. Biram is the latest project from the icon set to be released on March 29 via Biram’s longtime label Bloodshot Records. Glide is proud to premiere the video for “Inside a Bar”, the second single from Biram’s appropriately named upcoming release.
“Inside a Bar” is a stirring ballad set to twangy guitars as Biram’s signature vocals cut through the slow-burning arrangement with surgical precision. The self-proclaimed “Dirty One Man Band” crafts a minimal arrangement that emphasizes the longing of the lyrics, all delivered with that pure Austin gusto only a true native could conjure up. Never one for staying in the box, the dusty country ballad is split in half by guitar solos that lean toward the realm of psychedelia. “Inside a Bar” showcases a veteran musician with a thirst for new terrain, Biram’s latest single proves his well-deserved longevity is far from coming to an end.
Along with his brand new album, Biram is following his road dog spirit for an extensive tour in 2024. Kicking off on March 22, just days before The One & Only Scott H. Biram hits the shelves, the tour will start at Rhythm Room in Scottsdale, Arizona, and will march along into deep April. The tour will have stops in Denver, Philadelphia, Portland, and much more. The One & Only Scott H. Biram will mark the artist’s first full-length project in four years, Biram’s 13th overall, and his ninth for Bloodshot Records. The album will be available everywhere on March 29.
