On Friday, January 30th, Ani DiFranco brought her Unprecedented Sh!t tour to Portland, Oregon for the first of two nights at Revolution Hall. After an inspiring opening set from Louisiana’s Joy Clark, DiFranco took the stage, flanked by Todd Sickafoose on bass, Jharis Yoakley on drums, and Eric Heywood on guitar and pedal steel. DiFranco played several songs from 2024’s Unprecedented Sh!t, including the title track, “You Forgot to Speak,” “Baby Roe,” and “New Bible.” The set was interspersed with DiFranco’s older material, and several sing-alongsides, including “Dilate,” “Gravel,” and the encore-closing “Joyful Girl.”
DiFranco’s songs and live delivery are as powerful as ever, as she continues to blaze her own trail and uplift people along the way. The Unpresidented Sh!t tour continues across the United States through April.
