LISTEN: The Mothers of Lovers’s “The Prince is Pale” Brings Lo-fi Warmth To Soaring Psychedelia

The Mothers of Lovers – An exciting young Indie Rock band formed in Manhattan in 2022. Led by co-founders Neil Tucci and Alex Miranda.

On their debut single, “The Prince is Pale,” the exciting young duo introduce themselves as modern psych-rock revivalist with a contemporary edge and a thirst for new terrain. The Mothers of Lovers’ first official release oozes out of the speakers with an unassuming swagger, with an off-kilter smile plastered across its face as lush harmonies dance with sliding drum patterns and warping guitar riffs. What is miraculous about this all-encompassing approach the Mothers of Lovers are carving out for themselves is that, with all the intricate sonic tricks at work, the band maintains a quaint, lo-fi warmth. “The Price is Pale” features a multitude of subtle mood shifts and colors, all wrapped in the warmth of this vocal performance, which welcomes the band as an exciting addition to a burgeoning psych-rock scene.

“This song is our introduction into completely collaborative writing, taking the best of Neil’s lyrics and melodies with my arrangements and production,” explains Miranda.
