Radiohead has not performed together since 2018, but all changed today (November 4), when the illustrious and innovative rock band took the stage at Movistar Arena in Madrid for the first stop of their 2025 European tour. The tour begins amid the 25th anniversary of the band’s seminal Kid A LP, and is promising to be a visual spectacle. Radiohead has taken to the round, performing in the center of these massive arenas, for their fall 2025 tour, which includes multi-night stays in London and Berlin, to name a few. Night one of the band’s first tour together in seven years produced a career-spanning setlist that could bring a Radiohead fanatic to tears, as the storied band traverses their colorful discography with the fans in their heart and lofty visions in their mind.
Night one of four at the Movistar Arena was filled with nostalgia and urgency. Radiohead kicked things off with “Let Down” from OK Computer. The band performed hits from the 2000s classic, such as “No Surprises,” “Lucky,” and “Paranoid Android.” The only other album to receive the same amount of attention was Hail to the Thief, with songs like “A Wolf at the Door” and “The Gloaming” performed. With this performance marking Radiohead’s first in years, it was only right for the band to reach deep in their discography to pull out some timeless tunes. The band performed “Sit Down. Stand Up” for the first time since 2004, and the encore included the band’s first rendition of “Subterranean Homesick Alien” since 2017. The remainder of the 25-song setlist found Radiohead leaping from one era to the next, with performances of “Videotape” and “Bodysnatchers” from In Rainbows, “Fake Plastic Trees,” off The Bends, and some more recent material from A Moon Shaped Pool.
With night one in the books, Radiohead sets off on their autumn trip around Europe. The band will continue to tear down the Movistar Arena until November 8 before kicking off another four-night stint at the Unipol Arena in Italy on November 14. The band then heads to London, Denmark, and Germany, each stop lasting four nights in some of the country’s biggest arenas.
