Duane Allman may be remembered as a member of Derek and the Dominos thanks to Sky Dog’s contributions to Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, but he only played two live shows with the band. One of those gigs – December 1st, 1970 at Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa – was recorded for posterity and the master tape recently underwent a remix for the Mid Valley bootleg release Soul Mates Twin Flames.
You can download MP3s of Soul Mates Twin Flames from the Guitar 101 board to get a taste of Clapton and Allman in action.
Here’s six other bootlegs of note this week…
- Yes: Wembley 1978 Pre-FM [Soundaboard]
- Neil Young: 05/16/1974 SBD [Grateful Breed]
- Rolling Stones: 12″ Non-Album B-Sides [Talkin’ AMR]
- David Gilmour: 06/29/1984 SBD [T.U.B.E.]
- Jerry Garcia Band: Grand Opening of The Stone [TMCafe]
- Kings of Leon: 12/19/2010 FM FLACs [T.U.B.E.]

Awesome! Thanks for sharing some Sky Dog… The more I listen to Clapton/Derek & the Dominoes/Delaney & Bonnie/George Harrison from 1970, the more I think that was the pinnacle of rock and roll.
