Happy 50th birthday today to Andrew Bird who was born on 7/11/73. The violinist, vocalist and composer was initially known through his work with the band Squirrel Nut Zippers but now has one of the most respected solo careers of any eclectic artist. His albums that include Andrew Bird & the Mysterious Production of Eggs (2005) Armchair Apocrypha (2007) and Noble Beast (2009) and Break It To Yourself (2010) are all rated high on most year-end best ofs.
