Happy 70th birthday today to Peter Green who was born on 10/29/46. The co-founder of Fleetwood Mac was considered the premiere blues guitarist of his day with a tone that even envied both Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. Green’s songs, such as “Albatross”, “Black Magic Woman”, “Oh Well”, and “Man of the World”, have been adapted by a variety of musicians and have a legacy all their own. Following an ill-fated drug excursion in 1970, Green became transformed into a long steady mental decline and he has never since regained his prominence.
