Five years ago today (11/10/15), Allen Toussaint, the legendary songwriter, producer, arranger and performer hailed as one of the most influential figures in New Orleans music, died while on tour in Europe at the age of 77. Many artists recorded his songs including; ‘Mother-in-Law’, ‘Fortune Teller’, ‘Ride Your Pony’, ‘Working in the Coal Mine’, ‘Here Come the Girls’, ‘Yes We Can Can’ and ‘Southern Nights’.
