Jackie Greene Readies Giving Up The Ghost

Mercurial singer-songcraftsman Jackie Greene has signed with 429 Records and is readying the release of “Giving Up The Ghost,” the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2005 album, “American Myth.”  Having worked with 429 Records in early 2007, contributing a track for the label’s all-star tribute to The Band, “Endless Highway: The Music of The Band” (a raucous cover of “Look Out Cleveland”), Greene has officially joined the label’s acclaimed roster (alongside Steve Forbert, 2008 Grammy nominee Joan Armatrading, Steve Reynolds and The Roches).  Produced by Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, “Giving Up The Ghost” is a distinctive and energetic showcase of folk, blues and rock that Greene has been perfecting and has taken to another level.  Jackie is putting the final touches on “Giving Up The Ghost” and gearing up with his own band for dates in early 2008 and an extensive national tour of the U.S. with his band in April and May (he’s currently the front man on rock legend Phil Lesh’s tour).  429 Records will release “Giving Up The Ghost” on April 1.
