PLANTS AND ANIMALS confirm more live dates after releasing their first full length CD, “Parc Avenue,” through Secret City Records on March 25, 2008 in the United States. This is the follow up to “with/avec” EP, which was released in the fall of 2007. The band has added another NYC dated, Mercury Lounge on May 16, and this marks the band’s first trip to the west coast.
Rapidly gaining a reputation for their fervent live shows, Plants and Animals have recently shared bills in America with The Whigs (February 2008), with Wolf Parade (August 2007), plus many caught the band during their 3 sets during the 2008 SXSW. The band will continue touring through the summer including dates in Europe in June and Canada in July. A national tour for the U.S. is scheduled for this fall.
The week of “Parc Avenue” was released in the U.S., Myspace.com song plays quadrupled after the band was featured in their music section. Notable influential radio stations have championed the band including KEXP/Seattle, KROX/Austin, WERS/Boston, 3WK/STL, and the album reached #24 on the CMJ Chart (4/9/08).
