The Derby, The Fight of the Century, The Near Perfect Game from Wanger in the Bronx…with a Sports Saturday like that, it’s hard to think about live music. But I wonder what’s goin’ on with our friends down at Jazz Fest — well, we can all check in with them via the AT&T Blueroom webcast. There’s time to watch some strong acts, including Joss Stone, whose name I believe is still pronounced like “yogging.”

Let’s turn our focus from This Bikini to a sample of The Week That Was:
- He hates these cans! The Jerk joins Bela and Trischka
- Looks like we may just have to play in Amsterdam next March
- Killing in the Name Of…War Crimes!
- Brothers Past is Tom Hamilton’s second best band
- Scotty went Digging Deep through the covers on YouTube
- The Kidzz are Alright: New meaning for tramps at the mall
- Rose Hill Drive makes an old(er) man ache and fall apart
- The Hold Steady makes like Dangerfield and goes back to school
- Austin City Limits tries its best to attract me to town
- And, as usual, don’t forget to cup the balls: Grouse the Aisles, Pull the ‘Tubes, and Love the Bad Music
And there’s plenty more where that came from, homes…
