The Week That Was: Don’t Believe The Hype

Arcade Fire drove the world wide webosphere into a old-fashioned freakout when it created a website called bonlineb.com that purported to contain a special surprise. Now with the band just hours away from taking the Randall’s Island stage tonight, the cat is out of the bag: It’s an interactive site with Win Butler’s mug, a skilled set of hands and Neon Bible playing. The page is fairly cool, but that sure as shit is a ton of hype for a glorified e-card. Thanks for mutton.

Hey, but you never know, maybe we’ll get some of the above Bowie action tonight as a makeup for the fakeout. In any event, let’s look back at The Week That Was…
