Your ol’ pal Ace Cowboy wasn’t the only one returning to the Large Apple this weekend. Residents of New York last night welcomed back to the stage Stevie Wonder at Madison Square Garden and the canceled-due-to-writers’ strike Saturday Night Live at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. We’ll have more on Mr. Wonder’s triumphant homecoming later, but for now you can read all about the untelevised SNL performance with Michael Cera and Yo La Tengo here and here. A live episode of 30 Rock hits the UCB stage tomorrow night.
For now, let’s look back at The ScottyB-led Week That Was here at Hidden Track…
- Exit Chambers: It’s a new era of Tea Leaf Reed with Mathis on board
- Ten years ago, thepopularrockband Phish began to destroy America
- Better late than never — Langerado [finally] announces a kickass lineup
- The B List grouses the aisles of the now-free New York Times archives
- Grace Potter videos hit the ‘net…unfortunately not ‘that kind’ of video
- Dr. Neeko waxes nostalgic about the touring scrolls of Jack Kerouac
- Live Downloads: Crowded House plays to a Packed House in Chicago
- The Talented Andrew Bird’s got a new EP for pick-up at his shows
- Congrats to ScottyG for winning our Nirvana Unplugged DVD giveaway
- And make your iPod wanna blow you for hours with these free downloads: Grousing The Aisles, MP3 Boot Camp and the Friday Mix Tape
It’s good to be back…nuthin’ reminds a man he’s back in New York quite like bumper-to-bumper traffic at 1 am on the way home from JFK Airport. Normalcy.
