Ben Harper’s Relentless7 Returns To NYC

Last December, Ben Harper debuted his new rock band, Relentless7, with a series of shows at small venues such as Spaceland in LA and the Mercury Lounge in New York City. Before the quartet heads out for an extensive world tour they’ll be playing a warmup show at Highline Ballroom on Feb. 17.

Tickets for this show are currently onsale at TicketWeb for $35 plus fees. We’d expect they’ll sell out pretty quickly, although it is a Tuesday night concert. Here’s a taste of Relentless7’s gritty sound with a clip of Keep It Together from Kenny’s Castaways on December 12…

The magical chemistry between Harper and the talented trio of Jason Mozersky (lead guitar), Jesse Ingalls (bass, keys) and Jordan Richardson (drums) was clear from the moment they took the stage at the Relentless7 gig I saw at Kenny’s Castaways on December 12. Ben left nothing in the tank during the 120 minute set that included both originals and covers with a smattering of his older material at the intimate club. He’s clearly enjoying his return to a heavier, more rocked out sound and so are we. [HT – J Roth]
