This Weekend: Wyllys Hits The Road For Shows With Marco, tDB and Kung Fu

Wade “Wyllys” Wilby has been contributing to Hidden Track since our early days, so you’ll excuse us for getting a little verklempt as our favorite turntablist hits the road this weekend as part of his Look Mom, No Lights debut tour. There will be no laptops to be found as Wyllys heads out with two turntables, a mixer and a stack of vinyl to perform in support of friends the Disco Biscuits, Marco Benevento, Kung Fu and Newton Crosby.

The action starts on Thursday at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ where Wyllys will be joined by longtime collaborator Rob Marscher (Addison Groove Project, Matisyahu) on keys at a show that also features Newton Crosby and Kung Fu (members of RAQ and the Breakfast). On Friday, Wyllys returns to his home state of Connecticut to open for Marco Benevento at The Main Pub in Manchester. Saturday finds Wyllys spinning at setbreak of the rescheduled Disco Biscuits gig at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ. Finally, Wyllys teams up with Adam King (Dead Sessions, Seth Yacovone) for Hijack The Disco on Sunday night at Club Metronome in Burlington, VT.

Be sure to check out our interview for more on Wyllys.

  1. Wade deserves any/all props that come his way. down-to-earth Yet out of this world. He’s a great cat and an asset to this little sceme we all love.

    Go support Wyllys!

  2. Great time last night! Newton Crosby was good stuff — enjoyed the jamming. Wyllys with Marscher was sickness. Would love to see them throw down late night. Would definitely be a dance party and a half. Personal highlight was when Wyllys (Wade) and Marscher were still on stage and Timmy Palmieri (guitar) joined, followed by Adrian Tramontano (drums) and Dave Livosi (bass). LOVED the mix of the DJ and band. Would love to see that happen again. Kung Fu ripped faces as usual. Big news: Jen Hartswick was in the house and joined Kung Fu for most of the set. Holy cow that girl is amazing! The sound of her horn is just so perfect; she should join Kung Fu!! One of those nights were I was like, Thank God I’m here!!
