Jack Johnson: En Concert Debuting October 10th

New Noise Santa Barbara proudly presents the world film premiere of Jack Johnson: En Concert, a sonically saturated documentary of the surfing, mellow-music-making pop star’s 2008 tour through Europe, on Saturday, October, 10, at 7 p.m. in the historic Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara.

Featuring onstage performances of Jack and his band in both massive venues and intimate spaces, the Emmett Malloy-directed film reveals a musician riding the peak of his stardom while giving deeper insight into how this global icon manages to keep his cool amidst the fame. In backstage interviews and candid conversations with his bandmates as well as friends like Ben Harper, Mason Jennings, G Love, Neil Halstead, and Matt Costa, the artistically shot En Concert — which will be officially released two weeks later with an accompanying live album sourced from the same tour as well as a 60-page booklet — is a behind-the-scenes look at a one-of-a-kind life on the road, peppered with scenes of river surfing in Germany, bike riding in France, and rainy days in England.
