Robert Randolph, Grace Potter Headlining Dominion Riverrock Festival

Sports Backers and Venture Richmond announced today the featured music acts for this year’s Dominion Riverrock festival. On Friday, May 14th Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will headline the show. And on Saturday, May 15th, Robert Randolph and the Family Band will perform as the headlining act. The second annual sports and river life festival will be held on Brown’s Island in Richmond, VA May 14-15, 2010.

Twenty-six-year-old multi-instrumentalist Grace Potter heads the Vermont-based, bluesy and soulful rock outfit Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, who are set to play Friday night at 8pm following performances by local Richmond opening acts. On Saturday night, four-time Grammy nominees Robert Randolph & the Family Band, a funk and soul group fronted by the pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph, will take the stage at 8pm.

“We are thrilled to host such amazing musical talent at this year’s festival,” says Dominion Riverrock Co-Founder Jeff Fitch. “We went after both of these acts specifically because we believe they capture the spirit of Dominion Riverrock and will really round out this outdoor sports and river life celebration.”

The two-day festival celebrates Richmond’s vibrant and active river life with a series of sporting events – trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, freestyle biking and ultimate air dogs –with highly anticipated musical performances from national and regional acts, food vendors, exhibits and much more.
