Started in 1993, The Dismemberment Plan became quickly known for their high-energy shows and inducing massive dance parties. The DC post-punk/dancers split in 2003 and have been fairly quiet since (minus a few benefit shows). Now it seems that these guys are planning an East Coast tour this winter.
The outfit will be causing spontaneous dancing from DC to Boston and back following the reissue of their 1999 album Emergency & I as a double LP. The reissue will also include an oral history by The Onion’s Josh Modell and four bonus tracks: "The Dismemberment Plan Gets Rich", "Just Like You", "Since You Died", and "The First Anniversary of Your Last Phone Call".
We will see if this is a little stint, or the start of something more permanent.
The Emergency & I reissue will arrive January 11th via Barsuk.
