Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has just announced a three-date New Year’s run that takes them to Brooklyn Bowl in New York on Dec. 29 and the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., on Dec. 30-31. Tickets for the run become available Friday, Aug. 19, at noon EST. Formed in 2013, Almost Dead centers around drummer Russo, whose stint alongside former Furthur bandmates Bob Weir and Phil Lesh in Furthur gave him the credentials to deliver the music of the Dead to fans across the country. He’s joined in Almost Dead by guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton, bassist Dave Dreiwitz and keyboardist Marco Benevento.
