Grace Potter and the Nocturnals Staging Burlington Festival – Grand Point North

Grace Potter and The Nocturnals have added another festival appearance to their summer schedule – a new event curated and headlined by the rock band called Grand Point North.

The inaugural festival takes place in the band’s home state of Vermont Aug. 13-14 at Waterfront Park in Burlington.

“When it came time to think of a name for the weekend celebration, I came up with ‘Grand Point North’ because that’s what it feels like,” Potter said in a statement on the band’s website. “Having traveled the country far and wide with my band, no matter where we’ve been, coming home to Vermont always feels like an ascent; a journey north that grounds us and rejuvenates us. We want the fans to feel the same way. We’re bringing in a killer gathering of music, from national acts to top shelf local musicians. This is a festival for everyone, from families and revelers to the hardcore music fan. Anyone who makes the pilgrimage up to Vermont will find out just how special this place is. It’s a journey well worth taking.”

The lineup features local and national acts chosen by Potter and her bandmates, who will headline both nights of the festival. The roster includes Taj Mahal Trio, Fitz & The Tantrums, The Wood Brothers, Anais Mitchell & Hadestown Orchestra, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and Hoots & Hellmouth. Chamberlin will also perform along with Barbacoa w/ Lowell Thompson, Parmaga, Eames Brothers, Lendway, Maryse Smith & The Rosesmiths, Split Tongue Crow and Fredericks Brown.

The festival in presented by Grace Potter And The Nocturnals and Higher Ground in conjunction with the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival.

Tickets went on sale to the general public today. Two-day advance passes are priced at $60. A limited number of single-day tickets are available for $35.
