This week, Heavenly Recordings re-released the debut album from Seattle-based band The Head and the Heart. The record was issued earlier this year in North America via Sub Pop Records. The band has steadily built a major international presence with its blend of Americana, folk and indie rock sounds, with pensive, poignant lyrics and compelling vocals.
The Head and the Heart was first put out by the band in 2010, but when Sub Pop released it in April 2011, the album was remastered and featured a re-recorded version of "Sounds Like Hallelujah" and added in live favorite "Rivers and Roads." This UK deluxe reissue features three bonus tracks recorded live: "Rivers and Roads" and two new songs, "Josh McBride" and "Chasing a Ghost." Fans may also know these bonus songs from the Fuel/Friends Chapel Sessions from March 2011.
