BIRDS OF AVALON has spent the better part of the past four years on the road with the likes of The Racontuers, The Flaming Lips, Black Mountain, Ted Leo, Mudhoney, Monotonix and more. The band will be supporting this year’s self-titled release with an upcoming tour with Thrill Jockey recording artists, Wooden Shjips.
BIRDS OF AVALON’S self-titled release (via Bladen County Records and Gigantic Music) is another analog-only collaboration with Mitch Easter (REM, Wilco, Pavement) at his Fidelitorium Studio. The record builds on the pop-aesthetic of Bazaar Bazaar but blazes new progressive trails while anticipating the psychedelic experimentation of Uncanny Valley. The band is currently writing music for their first album as a 4-piece and is sure to be testing new material on fans along the tour.
