Acetate: This Band Makes Me Feel

Dave Schools is a rock and roll chameleon. While most recognized for his full-time job as virtuoso bassist for Widespread Panic, over the course of his career (and particularly in the past year while his band was on hiatus) his effortless, shape-shifting talents have bubbled freely from his fingers. From the quirky electronica of Slang to his place alongside J. Mascis in a recent incarnation of The Fog, Schools has unflinchingly covered a spectrum of styles and genres with precision and skill. But the freshest breeze to blow from his bass stack recently emerged in the form of Acetate, a homespun project that conjures a sound reminiscent of the days of eight-track tapes and garage parties.

Born of a jam session with guitarist and vocalist Kevin Sweeney and drummer Ben Mize in the trio
