Grizzly Bear Return With New Album/U.S. Tour

Grizzly Bear will release the follow-up to 2009’s acclaimed "Veckatimest" album on Sept. 18 through Warp Records. Although the Brooklyn group’s fourth studio effort does not yet have an announced title, Grizzly Bear unveiled its track list and released its lead track, "Sleeping Ute," on Tuesday (June 5).

Unlike "Veckatimest’s" pop-leaning breakout single "Two Weeks," "Sleeping Ute" follows a winding, experimental blueprint that recalls the band’s 2006 effort "Yellow House." The group (comprised of Daniel Rossen, Ed Droste, Christopher Bear and Chris Taylor) posted the song to YouTube on Monday with the caption "New album and world-wide tour — who’s with us?"

The band’s tour kicks off Sept. 16 in Knoxville. On Sept. 24, Grizzly Bear will perform at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, their largest headlining show in their native city to date.

Released in May 2009, "Vecktatimest" earned the praise of Jay-Z, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 220,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. "Two Weeks" has been featured in "How I Met Your Mother," "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and a national Volkswagen TV spot.
