Death Cab for Cutie front man Benjamin Gibbard is making the first single off his debut solo album Former Lives available this morning. The new album will be released via Barsuk Records (longtime label home to Death Cab during the band’s early years) on October 16th and “Teardrop Windows” is now available to stream on Gibbard’s official Soundcloud page. Along with the release of his first solo record, the singer will embark on a 14-date North American tour this fall. The tour begins with pre-release shows in Big Sur, CA and Toronto, ON, and continues with dates in Chicago, New York, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more, wrapping up with a hometown show in Seattle on November 16th at the Showbox and a show at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland on November 18th. A complete list of updated tour dates is available below; Advance Base and Damien Jurado will be joining him in opening slots.
