LISTEN: Two New Unheard Outtakes From Gene Clark ‘No Other’ Boxset

Gene Clark’s 1974 masterpiece No Other – one of the American singer-songwriter and Byrds founding member’s finest works – is being reissued by 4AD on November 8th 2019.

Ahead of its release next month, two more outtakes from the recording sessions have been released today to further whet appetite for what’s to come.

Recorded at The Village Studios in Los Angeles with a stellar band of musicians, the outtakes were all recorded in one go and help to offer fans an incredible insight in to how Gene’s cult classic album was made.  Without any studio trickery, a total of 18 outtakes appear across the deluxe editions of the reissue and are all previously unheard, having recently been exhumed from the original studio rushes.

The two tracks being released today are the second take Gene and his band attempted of album title track, ‘No Other’, & their third attempt at the epic album track ‘Some Misunderstanding’. You can hear both tracks below..
