SONG PREMIERE: Fascinations Grand Chorus Rev Up 60’s Girl Group Nods On “Back Again”

Jersey City duo, Fascinations Grand Chorus’ debut album Presentations of Electrical Confectionery (due out 11/1), is a release of sweet indiepop delights, inspired by grandiose aspirations that fall apart and the departed attractions that accompany them. What is disposable entertainment and what is of real value? Mixing surf rock, indiepop, cutting synths and bubblegum into an earnest smorgasbord sonic treats. Recorded to tape in Jersey City and produced by Dennis Pierce and Fascinations Grand Chorus.

Fascinations Grand Chorus is the story of two rival songwriters, joined together to form an audio experiment of pop stylings, a duo of competition. Despite their differences, Stephanie Cupo (vocals/keyboards) and Andrew Pierce (drums) are brought together by their love of The Beach Boys, The Misfits, 1910 Fruitgum Company and certain antiquated arcade games. They are the indiepop prizewinners of Jersey City, NJ and conquerors of seaside amusements. Each release is a competition, often more than a friendly challenge, but for the greater good of pushing their various boundaries of songwriting, producing and arranging.

Glide is stoked to premiere “Back Again” from Fascinations Grand Chorus- a ravishing mix of Fiery Furnaces experimentalism and Jenny Lewis pop flourishes. With springy rhythms and 60’s girl group nods, FGC effortlessly strikes a nostalgic neve on first listen.
