LISTEN: Oli McCracken’s Soulful Vocals Scorch New Single “Pretty Penny”

Born in the UK, raised in Australia, Chicago, and Houston, soul singer Oli McCracken now based out of Denver, Colorado, is a singer-songwriter with a unique perspective and a wide range of influences. With the release of his debut EP “From Scratch” Oli quickly captured the attention of Denver’s thriving music scene and earned a permanent place on the playlists of fans worldwide. His lyrics are meaningful, full of pictures and stories that capture the listener in a very special way. His soulful sound is grown out of influences as wide-ranging as Van Morrison, Amos Lee, and BB King.

McCraken has been around. The soul singer has bounced about the globe, picking up inspiration and technique along the way. On his new single, “Pretty Penny” McCracken brings it all together with a focused and lush blues number with nods to The Teskey Brothers and Marcus King. McCraken possesses an honest and soulful vibrato – a polished sound in a rather turbulent era.

“Pretty Penny was inspired by that feeling you get when you see someone or something once familiar which is now almost unrecognizable and not as you remember. That and a new guitar that was begging to be played,” says McCracken.
