Pavement’s reunion tour was just one of many victims of COVID cancellations. They were initially supposed to head out on a world tour in 2020 and two years later they’re finally getting a chance to hit the road. Before the band headlines at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Pavement shared a stage for the first time in 12 years. They performed an intimate set at the 1,200-capacity Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. The 30-song set included two encores.
The band put together a career-spanning set, performing songs like “Harness Your Hopes” and “Transport Is Arranged” for the first time since the ’90s. The night was filled with B-sides, among them is their song “Fame Throwa”, a deep-cut in their discography that hasn’t seen a live performance since 1993.
The band is starting off their North American tour with a string of west coast dates starting at the Balboa Theather in San Diego on September 7. They will make their way across the country then head to Europe for a string of dates before finishing off their long-awaited reunion tour in Asia.
