Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds Kick Off Summer Tour at Northside Festival In Denmark

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds kicked off a Summer-long tour of overseas festival dates last night (June 2) with their headlining spot at the Northside Festival in Denmark. This is the band’s first live performance since 2018 when they performed in Toronto, Canada. They had planned to continue playing shows that year until COVID shut down a string of dates.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds debuted in 1984 with an original sound that was led by the bandleader’s poetic approach to songwriting. Since then they have released some of Modern Rock’s most essential releases. They’re touring in support of their 2021 compilation B-Sides & Rarities (Part II), a collection of B-sides and previously unreleased songs picked from releases and studio sessions spanning from 2006-2019.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds started their tour by performing some of those B-sides and rarities. Their setlist included songs like “Get Ready for Love”, a song that has not been played live since 2009, and “Vortex”, a track recorded in 2006 that just saw the light of day on last year’s release got a live debut. The rest of their setlist bounced around their discography and included Cave performing songs from his collaborations with Warren Ellis.

No North American dates are set but check out the full setlist, tour dates, and footage from last night’s performance below.
