Bathe Alone is the dream-pop moniker of multi-instrumentalist Bailey Crone. Taking shape in Atlanta, her haunting approach to songwriting and delicate vocal deliveries often draw comparisons to Beach House, Widowspeak, and The xx.

Growing up with a formal background in classical music, Crone first burrowed her way into the Peach State’s indie scene as a teenager. She picked up drums, guitar, and bass early on, where she eventually discovered a distinct identity and connection to each instrument. With a drumming vocabulary more akin to the punk world and ambient guitar drenched in delay, the foundations for Bathe Alone were starting to crystallize.

After tinkering and fine tuning her sound even further, Crone enlisted the help of producer Damon Moon — who immediately recognized an untapped potential in the project. Within months they completed what would become Bathe Alone’s debut LP, Last Looks. The 2021 album quickly caught fire and received praise from publications like Under The Radar, DittyTV, and more. Recently the team finished her sophomore full-length, Fall With The Lights Down — due out later this year. With eyes fixed towards the future, Bathe Alone has a lot to look forward to.

Today Glide is excited to premiere the lyric video for Bathe Alone’s new single “Once More.” Moody and atmospheric, the song is a delicate work of indie pop that builds gradually and showcases the kind of intriguing instrumentation that makes Bathe Alone such a compelling act. Bailey Crone’s dreamy vocals float over a simple beat and airy guitar that is textured and danceable, balancing catchiness and depth.

Bailey Crone (songwriter of Bathe Alone) describes the inspiration behind the song:

“I had a friend who was writing songs for commercial briefs and I wanted to take a shot at it as a writing exercise. I believe this one was for a milk commercial — and the references had acoustic guitar, bells, and all these major chords. I borrowed an acoustic and came up with this song as just an instrumental, and my friend turned it in to the producer of the project.

They hated the reverb on my electric guitar — the same guitar tone I have plastered all over my first record — so I brought it to my producer Damon to make it a Bathe Alone song. We beefed it up with all these synths and added some really interesting auxiliary. The shaker is me rubbing my pants, and the kick drum in the beginning is a toy snare Damon de-tuned. When the real drums come in, that’s actually Damon on the kit. He really wanted drums like ‘The Boys Of Summer’ by Don Henley where they turn the beat around, and the ending is killer because of it.”
