The incomparable Bill Callahan is taking off on the road in support of his 2022 album Reality (stylized as YTI⅃AƎЯ). The veteran multi-faceted artist announced today (January 12) that he is bringing the 12-track LP to life on a short-lived tour across the U.S. The 13-stop tour sees Callahan making stops in most major cities including Philadelphia, Dallas, and Atlanta. For a man who is infamous for his live performances, everyone is eager to see what Callahan has in store for this upcoming string of dates. The closest thing we have to a hint as to what to expect from the unpredictable Callahan on this upcoming tour is a quote from a press release; “Pitting dreams of songs against performances of those songs in live reality, Bill and full band will build and burrow, exploring sounds on a nightly basis in order to establish dominion over the concept of ‘the definitive version’”.
Callahan released Reality via Drag City Records in October of last year, adding on to his storied discography which dates back to 1990 when the artist released music under the alias Smog. The tour is announced just before vinyl editions of YTI⅃AƎЯ are set to be pressed up for the public, you can get your copy on the Drag City website.
