LISTEN: Floral Image Brings Wide-Ranging Psychedelic Flourishes On “Voices”

Floral Image is a psychedelic pop band from the third-eye of Norwich, UK. Formed in 2019, their sound is the reincarnation of the summer sun, spun into a perpetual party twilight. They harness the noise and drive of early 70’s psychedelic titans Hawkwind – with a bright helping of neo-psych acts such as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala – whilst still incorporating an acid house groove underneath their bright and luscious melodies.

If there’s only one good thing King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard has done for this musical world (there’s plenty more) it’d be opening the door to letting modern bands fly their freak flags. On “Voices” UK’s Floral Image shows us what you can do with a flair for vintage psychedelic rock and a mastery of modern production and mixing. Sonically beautiful, the song clocks in at a little under six minutes and flies so swiftly that you’ll be left with just the jangly guitar tones echoing in the back of your mind. This is only the third release from their debut single, but we can only hope for much much more from this group in the near future.
