U.K.’s Ballin Jacks utilize strong vintage vibes on their new single “Here With Me.” Opening with 60’s inspired slapback heavy bass and a nice clean piano leading to the sleepy lilting verse. The gained-out and reverberated background vocalists are a great touch and layer throughout the first half of the song while the lead vocalist engages with an emotive and dark delivery. By the second half of the tune the band pulls into a full-on groove given the trumpet time to explore and play with the somewhat psychedelic progression the band has created. Coming from a relatively new band, a tune like “Here With Me” is sure to spark interest near and far.
In ‘Here With Me’ the singer is questioning his own feelings of solitude, guilt, and jealousy, not fully convinced by them, while the band offers up an escape. I recall a kind of muggy, otherworldly feeling in the studio recording this one having been in there cutting tracks for 3 solid days at that point,” says the band.
