Spawning both sonically and geographically from Debbie Harry’s stomping grounds, NYC’s Tea Eater offers up a frenetic burst of post-punk space rock with their latest single “Double”. Fronted by Tarra Thiessen of Gustaf and Sharkmuffin, “Double” packs about as many catchy melodies and crunchy bass riffs, and interstellar guitar tones that a minute and thirty seconds can handle. Their debut LP, Obsession, is set to be released October 6, 2023 via A Diamond Heart Productions/Amethyst Trax (Symphonic Distribution) and La Fam Recordings.
“Double is a song about killing your evil twin and taking yourself less seriously. We all subconsciously create doubles of ourselves that we present to others in social situations. These self-conscious versions of ourselves tend to make us get in our own way. So we invite you to shed your doubles by accepting all of them back into your total self!” says Thiessen.
