Scott Tournet’s new album finally has a cemented release date and the virtuoso is not slowing down there. His brand-spanking new LP, Rock & Roll Stories, is set to be released on August 29 and is bringing these songs to life on a tour around the Northeast. The album is preceded by the two widely impressive singles “Fever” and “Fool’s Gold”, two stunning examples of Tournet’s fusion of bluesy guitars and soulful vocals.
Tournet has explored every corner of success and ultimately opted to put the music first. His history in music dates back to the old dirt road in Vermont where he grew up and has taken him to some of the biggest stages in country music and playing with some of its biggest stars. At the time, Tournet was opening up for Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney and playing to around 60,000 people in football stadiums with his band Grace Potter and The Nocturnals.
Just when it all was hitting a fever pitch, Tournet looked to California for a rejuvenation process. He moved to The Golden State to start Elektric Voodoo, a globe-trotting ensemble that refused to call a single genre home. After three albums and a few tours with Voodoo, Tournet was again found at a crossroads and ultimately found that home would be the ideal space to harbor his restless creativity. It was then that Scott Tournet got to work on Rock & Roll Stories. What started as a solo effort has transformed into a full band before the frontman’s eyes and has reconfigured itself into Scott Tournet and The Spark.
If the two singles are any hint at what is to come on Tournet’s new LP, we should all be very excited. He refuses to attach his name to anything that isn’t boundary-pushing and genre-blending, leading us to songs like “Fool’s Gold”.
