Tucker Woods is a tried-and-true rock ‘n’ roll band with a dynamic, youthful spirit; they’re readying the release of their new album, Sunshine Blues (due out March 15th, 2024). Based in New York, Tucker Woods is made up of guitarist and vocalist Chris Hurd and Brian Motel on both bass and keys. The two met on a whim nearly a decade ago and instantly found that not only did their capabilities gel perfectly, but also an ever-important part of the equation fit seamlessly: their music is held together by an unspoken mantra to serve the song.

Reminiscent of Oasis and The Who, the duo draws inspiration from the likes of the Kinks, Tom Petty and the Foo Fighters. Their music is tied together with Beatles-esque melodies and hooks infused with a message of hope and endurance.

Today Glide is excited to offer a premiere of the video for the album’s title track “Sunshine Blues.” The tune is a straightforward rocker that carries a full-hearted sound and feels ready to fill large venues with its infectiousness. The band delivers the kind of song that is well-suited for the radio yet maintains indie rock integrity, bringing to mind artists like Lord Huron and the Foo Fighters alongside an element of urgency.

The band describes the inspiration behind the tune:

“We got some killer guitar tones for this track in the studio, which is one of the production highlights on the album for me. I’ve been in love with the lick in the intro forever; it’s so pretty and groovy and suits the feel and mood perfectly. It’s a great build when the chorus hits, and then the strings and acoustic guitar come into focus. I hope it shows a different side to the band and to me as a songwriter. It’s about finding hope in loss, which isn’t to say it’s a sad song by any means—it just digs a bit deeper on a personal level than I’ve gone in the past. One of the things I love about music and writing is how a song can hold different meanings to different people depending on the listener and their own perspective, though.”
