The Kantors, comprised of founding members Kristin (lead vocals) and Dan Kantor (percussion, guitar) are an indie folk-rock group based in Chicago. They are often joined by friends and band members Jamie Redwood (keys, vocals), Sam Adams (guitar, vocals), and Rachel Clark (violin, vocals, bass). Their music is defined by powerfully vulnerable vocals, visual lyrics, flowing strings, catchy guitar solos, satisfying drum fills, and tight harmonies.
Immediately we are entranced by Kristin Kantor’s vocal prowess on the new single, “Easy to Leave” from The Kantors. The track is raw and soulful, crafted with a nostalgic warm feel, built on a wide low-end cushion and succulent guitar flavor.
“Easy to Leave” is centered on the experience of falling in love with someone who can play different roles to fit their own narrative, which can feel like being in a relationship with an inhuman stranger. We were inspired by the recent alien news, so we took the inhuman part literally and incorporated a space cowboy vibe in the production.”
