Joe Bel was born into a cosmopolitan family scattered all around the world, and one day Bel chose to interrupt her “History of Art and Literature” studies to plunge into music. As a self-taught musician & singer, her instincts drove her to give her first solo gigs with a guitar in 2012.
Sink into the sweet and nimble new single, “Your Own Hands” from French artist, Joe Bell. Set to a simple and forward-facing groove, Bel vocally encompasses the track with melodically captivating chatter, bolstered by lyrical tastefulness and comforting range. “Your Own Hands” is an exceptionally effortless alternative pop, a musically delicious endeavor tattered with culture and crafted with heart.
“What do we pass on to those who come after us and how do we do that? How do we receive what has been passed down by the generations that came before us? The ethereal voices at the start of this track set the spiritual tone, as the artist ponders her place in the world, her family lineage and asks herself questions about the future. Ornaments played by the saz, a string instrument often heard in traditional Greek and Turkish music, are a nod to her family history and the legacy of our ancestors.
