Weirdo Wednesday: Brian Eno ‘Baby’s On Fire’ Video

Brian Eno is perhaps best known for his groundbreaking ambient albums like Another Green World, but you could make a strong argument that his debut solo album Here Come the Warm Jets (released in 1973) is the most interesting piece of music in his entire catalog. While admittedly not as cerebral as his purely ambient/mental wallpaper music to come, Here Come the Warm Jets is no less arty/experimental, sporting a decadently peculiar sound with a vaguely unsettling glamish flair to it that makes for a uniquely compelling listening experience. It sounds downright alien at times, which this bizarre video of “Baby’s on Fire” does a great job of capturing. The insane guitar solo from the one and only Robert Fripp of King Crimson fame helps make this truly one of the most delightfully deranged songs in Eno’s entire discography:
