Orville Peck, Bertha, Run The Jewels, Killer Mike, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings Lead Eclectic Newport Folk Day 2 (PHOTOS)

For the hump of the weekend on Saturday at Newport Folk, the festival saw guitar duo Hermanos Gutierrez mesmerize on the Fort Stage followed by a technically troubled but consummately professional set by multi instrumental warrior Rhiannon Giddens.

LGBTQ+ acts were the highlight of the day as Bertha: Grateful Drag drew an overflow crowd to the Harbor Stage before Orville Peck won the day on the Quad Stage.

With the other half of Run the Jewels at home, Killer Mike followed Orville Peck in support of his solo album, Michael, before a headlining slot by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings with a special introduction by Joan Baez that provided the crowd with an authentic folk experience.

Stay tuned for photos from Sunday and our Full Festival Recap!
