The countdown to vinyl fanatics’ favorite holiday is officially underway, and the excitement is palpable. The annual Record Store Day will take place on April 12, and this year’s list is one of the more extensive. With over 300 reissues, first pressings, and exclusives set to be released this spring, putting together a wish list can be overwhelming. In an age where albums, or any news, fly by far too quickly, capturing these magical songs on wax is more crucial than ever. Record Store Day is a time to put the technology away and fall back in love with physical media, and with these releases, falling in love comes easy.

Blur – The Magic Whip – RSD Exclusive

Blur’s underrated 2015 album is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2025, and the legendary brit-rock band is ringing in the occasion with a special reissue. The Magic Whip is receiving the picture disc treatment on this Record Store Day, marking the first new pressing of Blur’s eighth studio album since 2023. 

Elvis Costello – Kings of America Live at Royal Albert Hall – RSD Exclusive

Originally recorded on January 27, 1987, and freshly mixed for this special release, Third Man Records and Elvis Costello capture a moment in time on wax. Costello’s 17-song performance at the legendary Royal Albert Hall can now be brought home on wax after their initial digital release in 2024 on the deluxe version of Kings of America

The Cure – The Head on the Door – RSD Exclusive

For the first time on picture disc and the first official pressing since a 2016 reissue, The Cure’s The Head on the Door is getting a crisp reissue. The band’s 1985 LP, produced by frontman Robert Smith and Dave Allen, will be released by Rhino for this exclusive RSD pressing. 

De La Soul – “Bigger / Respect” – RSD Exclusive

Recently, De La Soul announced a deluxe anniversary reissue of their 2004 LP The Grind Date, and a little slice of the deluxe is being pressed on wax. Two previously unreleased songs from the album, the already-released single “Bigger” and “Respect,” are getting a double single LP treatment, along with fan-favorite instrumentals from The Grind Date

Flying Lotus – Spirit Box – RSD First

A piece of the ever-evolving artistic catalog of Flying Lotus is being cemented on wax this Record Store Day. The artist’s neo-soul EP has been pressed for the first time since its 2024 release and will feature the complete project, including instrumentals. 

Free Nationals – Free Nationals (Instrumentals) – RSD First

Originally known as Anderson .Paak’s backing band, now a soulful force on their own, Free Nationals, are finally pressing the music from their debut on wax. The band’s self-titled debut initially landed in 2019, with the instrumentals following the following year. This double LP will mark the first time the instrumentals are put to wax. 

Freddie Gibbs – You Only Die 1nce – RSD First

The criminally underrated 2024 release from venomous rapper Freddie Gibbs will be released on wax for the first time via AWAL. The daring concept album is Gibbs’s latest release and will be pressed on a single LP this Record Store Day. 

Gorillaz – Demon Days Live From the Apollo Theater – RSD Exclusive Release

One of the many iconic releases held within Gorillaz’s discography is getting the live treatment for the second time since its 2005 release. After immortalizing the live version of Demon Days with a concert film, the animated band grabs another live performance from April 2006 at the Apollo Theater. The new double LP pressing will be slipped into a stunning gatefold sleeve.  

Brittany Howard – Live from Austin City Limits – RSD Exclusive Release

Brittany Howard has long claimed her place as a creative leader in modern music. Her prowess has been captured on vinyl the same way one would capture lightning in a bottle. Howard’s Live from Austin City Limits, performed initially and aired during 2024’s Austin City Limits festival, features the artist running through hits and b-sides with an eight-piece backing band. The single LP will be pressed on electric blue vinyl. 

Ice-T – Power Rarities – RSD First

A stone-cold classic from West Coast legend Ice-T is being revisited for 2025’s Record Store Day. Power Rarities features instrumentals, remixes, and extended cuts of hits from Ice-T’s 1988 LP. This will mark the first time these alt-versions are put on wax and the first time Power has been touched since the whole LP was reissued in 2023. 

The Jesus Lizard – Flux – RSD Exclusive

After their triumphant return in 2024 after a decades-long hiatus, The Jesus Lizard is far from slowing down. Flux features three songs that did not appear on Rack, the band’s return album. The artwork is by acclaimed artist Malcolm Bucknall. The pressing will be on etched black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve. 

MJ Lenderman – And the Wind (Live and Loose!) – RSD First

Guitarist/singer/songwriter MJ Lenderman has been on a legendary run since 2023, and a portion of it is being pressed for this RSD. Lenderman’s live album, And the Wind, was initially released in 2023 and is finally getting the physical treatment in 2025. The live album will be released on a double LP via Anti Records. 

Charles Mingus – Mingus at Monterey – RSD First

Out of print for nearly forty years, a legendary performance from an icon is getting an official reissue. Jazz virtuoso Charles Mingus brought the house down at the 1964 Monterey Jazz Festival, and the live album of this performance is getting a new life breathed into it this Record Store Day. The double LP will feature the entire performance and is brought to you by the Charles Mingus Estate and Candid Records. 

The O’Jays – Super Bad – RSD Limited Run/Regional Focus

One of the most iconic Philly soul groups is throwing its hat into the RSD ring with a colorful reissue of one of its many classic albums. The O’Jays released their album Super Bad in 1971, and the fusion LP is being specially reissued this year. The 2025 pressing will be on purple vinyl, housed in a gatefold, and feature a complete album remastering. This will mark the first time the album has been reissued in the States since 1973. 

Public Images Limited – First Issue (US Version) – RSD Exclusive Release

When John Lydon debuted his post-Sex Pistols band, Public Images Limited, a reworked version of their debut album was prepared for release in the U.S., but ultimately, it was shelved. For 2025’s Record Store Days, serious collectors will be pleased to know that the shelved LP is finally seeing the light of day. Equipped with fresh artwork and remixed/remastered versions of the album, the US version of First Issue will finally be available this Spring. 

The Replacements – Tim – RSD Exclusive

The Replacements classic LP, Tim, is getting an official 40th Anniversary reissue for this Record Store Day. The double LP will be pressed on transparent purple vinyl and feature the 2023 Remaster and the legendary Ed Stasium mix from the Let It Bleed box set. 

Sun 0))) – Oracle – RSD First

Back in 2007, prog-metal band Sun 0))) teamed up with visual artist Banks Violette for a unique recording. The band recorded their Oracle EP as a part of Violette’s installation, performing the project live while people were locked outside. This will mark the first time the EP was put to wax since 2009. It will come on a color vinyl and include an exclusive poster. 

BADBADNOTGOOD & Various Artists – Brazil 45 Boxset Vol. 6 – RSD Exclusive

Mr. Bongo’s Brazil 45 Boxset series meets modern jazz royalty as BADBADNOTGOOD takes over the series for its sixth edition. The boxset will include a wide range of collaborations as BADBADNOTGOOD’s nuanced fusion work meets deep grooves across the rich history of Brazillian music. 

Anderson .Paak – Come Down Single – RSD First

A fan favorite cut from Anderson .Paak’s timeless debut album is getting a nostalgic single pressing for RSD. The high-energy anthem, “Come Down,” will be pressed on a 7-inch, 45 RPM single and include the original LP and the instrumental and clean version of the iconic song. 

Nick Lowe – (Not) Indoor Safari Vol. 1 – RSD First

The latest Nick Lowe live album marks the first time the artist and his band, Los Straitjackets, have released a live recording in over a decade. This RSD First features the legendary songwriter diving deep into his discography, including songs from his 2024 LP Indoor Safari. This pressing was recorded across a series of 2024 shows and will include hits like “When I Write This Book” and “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding.”
